According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, Chitra Bahadur Karki, 40, of Piple VDC died after a truck (Na 4 Kha 3184) heading towards east from Bharatpur hit him at Piple VDC-5 along the East-West Highway.
The truck driver has been absconding and search for him was underway, said police.
Similarly, a pedestrian died in a road accident at Jyotinagar in the district.
The deceased has been identified as Shanti Devi Adhikari.
The accident took place when a bus (Na 5 Kha 643) heading towards Parsadhap from Tandi carrying a marriage procession hit Adhikari. She died while undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College, said police.
