BIRGUNJ (PARSA), March 15: The Birgunj Customs Office has collected revenue of Rs 109.23 billion in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, falling short of its target of Rs 139.73 billion.
Chief Administrator of the customs office, Deepak Lamichhane, stated that the revenue collection stood at Rs 12.15 billion in the month of Shravan (mid-July to mid-August), Rs 13.42 billion in Bhadra (mid-August to mid-September), Rs 13.47 billion in Ashoj (mid-September to mid-October), Rs 11.10 billion in Kartik (mid-October to mid-November), and Rs 14.40 billion in Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December).

Similarly, the Birgunj Customs Office collected the highest revenue of Rs 15.47 billion in Poush (mid-December to mid-January), followed by Rs 14.44 billion in Magh (mid-January to mid-February) and Rs 14.63 billion in Falgun (mid-February to mid-March).
The office is hopeful that the revenue collection will improve further in the remaining four months of the fiscal year. The highest contributions to the revenue collection have come from the import of petroleum products and motor vehicles.
