DAMAULI (Tanahun), Jan 26: Blacktopping has started in the western section of Tanahun under the Mugling-Pokhara road expansion project.

DAMAULI, Jan 20: As a part of the ongoing Muglin-Pokhara road expansion project, a total of 19.5 km of road has been blacktopped. The blacktopping has been completed from Anbukhaireni to Bandipur of Tanahu district.

MYAGDI, May 15: Blacktopping has started on the Pokharebagar-Chitre road that connects a popular tourism destination Ghodepani.

KAWASOTI, March 16: Blacktopping has started in the Kawasoti area along the eastern section of the East-West Narayanghat-Butwal road four years after its foundation stone was laid.

BAGLUNG, May 24: The two big projects that are in the final stage of the construction in Baglung district have come to a halt. Blacktopping has been put on hold in Balewa Airport and road up to Baglung Bus Park.

GORKHA, Nov 2: The blacktopping on the Chhewetar section of the Bahrakulo-Barpak road in Gorkha has already started peeling off though it was constructed only on Sunday evening.

SINDHULI, Nov 3: Solabhanjyang–Sindhuligadhi section of the BP Highway blacktopped just three months ago has begun to wear off. Cracks and holes are visible at different parts of the highway section speaking volumes about the quality of the work done on it.

GORKHA, July 31: The blacktopping of a 30-kilometer stretch of a road in Bapark has come to a standstill as the road project office scrapped the agreement with the contractor, Nagarjun/Trishuli JV, citing extreme negligence in work. The stretch covers one-fourth of the Barhakilo–Barpak road.

KAVRE, July 25: A section of the Araniko Highway that connects the Kathmandu Valley with China has developed innumerable cracks within a year after blacktopping.

PANCHTHAR, July 9: The blacktopping of roads connecting rural areas of the district has started through a joint initiative of the federal and provincial governments.

KATHMANDU, May 11: The ward office of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6, in coordination with four other parties, reached an agreement to blacktop the Chabahil-Sankhu road section after the enraged locals protested against the delay in rebuilding the road on Thursday morning. The Bauddha Trade Association, local residents' group, Shree Tusal Youth Club and United Builders Pvt Ltd jointly signed the six-point agreement for blacktopping the Tusal-Bauddha road on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, May 9: The Boudha Trade Association and the local residents of Boudha have obstructed the Chabahil-Sankhu road section, in protest against the delay in the blacktopping of the under-construction road.

PARBAT, March 16: Around two decades ago, Parbat was one of the districts with one of the worst road networks. Though roads have reached people’s doorsteps in many towns and villages nowadays,  blacktopping has just started here, and it is being done rapidly.

UDAYPUR, March 9: Blacktopping work at the The Madan Bhandari Highway, which connects Dharan, Chatara, Gaighat, Katari, Sindhuli and Hetauda, and touches all eight local units of Udaypur district, is seeing rapid progress of late.

POKHARA, Dec 4: After nearly two decades runway of the Jomsom Airport is being repaired. The runway was in dire need of repairs for a long time now. According to Pushparaj Neupane, an engineer with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the repair project worth Rs 800 million has already kicked off. “The work of erecting fences around the airport is almost over. Blacktopping of the runway and construction of parking area will follow soon,” he said.

BARDIYA, Dec 2: Blacktopping of a 10-kilometer-long road section from Gulariya to Belawa in Sanoshree of Bardiya district has started. The section is part of the east-west Hulaki Road.

GORKHA, Nov 1: The blacktopping of Abukhaireni-Gorkha road was intensified just a few weeks before the end of the last fiscal year just to ensure that the budget allocated by the government would not freeze.

KHOTANG, June 11: With the onset of monsoon, a section of Diktel-Hurlung road of the Mid-hills Highway has been left muddy after the contractor delayed in blacktopping the road.

KATHMANDU, June 6: The Narayangadh-Muglin road will be open round the clock after road expansion completed today. Initially scheduled to complete by 2017, the expansion was delayed by 14 months. Provided that there is no traffic congestion, a vehicle would be able to reach either of the destinations in 35 minutes.

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Almost three years after the Tripureshwar -Nagdhunga road expansion project began, the Tripureshwar -Kalimati road section is finally being black-topped. However, the concerned authorities are still clueless about when the project will be completed.

JUMLA, Sept 9: Blacktopping has been almost completed at the runway of Juphal Airport, in the western mountainous district of Jumla.

SIRAHA, July 19: Poor road construction and blacktopping are rampant across the country. The blacktopped layer giving in within few days is a common scene in towns and villages. Concerned authorities do not seem to care or do anything to stop the contractors from delivering such poor roads. However, in a rare incident, locals of Golbazar of Siraha district have brought an ongoing road blacktopping to a halt citing its poor construction quality.

DOTI, Dec 23: The blacktopping of Dipayal airport, which had been a cow grazing site for the past 10 years, has begun in a way to complete the task within coming 15 months.
