Woman escapes tiger attack

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: Durga Tharu, 30, a resident of Sonari Rural Municipality-4 of Rapti district has managed to save herself from a tiger attack on Wednesday morning. Although Tharu was able to save her life, she did not escape unscathed.

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: Durga Tharu, 30, a resident of Sonari Rural Municipality-4 of Rapti district has managed to save herself from a tiger attack on Wednesday morning. Although Tharu was able to save her life, she did not escape unscathed. She was attacked by a tiger while going to collect leaves at Gauri Community Forest.   


After her escape, Tharu shared that she felt like she had received a new life. She has received multiple scratches from the tiger around her body. She is currently receiving treatment at Rapti Sonari Hospital in Baijapur.

Following the attack, locals of Baijapur are in fear of being attacked by wild animals. A tiger had pounced on a teacher at the jungle between Rapti Sonari wards five and six a few days ago.
