KATHMANDU, Jan 5: Durga Tharu, 30, a resident of Sonari Rural Municipality-4 of Rapti district has managed to save herself from a tiger attack on Wednesday morning. Although Tharu was able to save her life, she did not escape unscathed. She was attacked by a tiger while going to collect leaves at Gauri Community Forest.
After her escape, Tharu shared that she felt like she had received a new life. She has received multiple scratches from the tiger around her body. She is currently receiving treatment at Rapti Sonari Hospital in Baijapur.
Human-Tiger Coexistence Amidst Rising Tiger Population
Following the attack, locals of Baijapur are in fear of being attacked by wild animals. A tiger had pounced on a teacher at the jungle between Rapti Sonari wards five and six a few days ago.
