The woman who came to Kankai Hotel with a man on Wednesday night and booked a room was found murdered the next morning. [break]
The identities of both the man and woman could not be established as their names were not entered in the register, while signing in at the hotel, informed the police.
The man who accompanied her absconded early on Thursday morning. Both of them booked the Room Number Two and said that they were husband and wife heading to Kathmandu, informed the hotel owner, Arjun Luitel.
The man cleared the bills early this morning and left the hotel alone.
When asked about his wife he said that she had left ahead of him in a bus as it was raining heavily. "As I did not see the woman leaving, I went to check in the room and found her body, and by the time I reached out, he had already left", said Luitel.
The woman was strangled to death and the naked body was kept in a rack covered in a blanket in the room, informed Superintendent of Police, Kailali.
Police are assuming it to be a premeditated murder.
