KATHMANDU, Feb 11: A woman was found dead in a hotel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9, Bijay Chowk. SSP Bhupendra Khatri at the District Police Range, Kathmandu, said that the body of the 45-year-old woman was found in a hotel room on Saturday evening.
The room remained locked for at least two days. The hotel owner believed that the customer might have left without settling the bill.

However, upon opening the door, the deceased was discovered and the hotel owner alerted the police. A police team from Gaushala arrived at the scene.
The woman's body was found on the bed with a rope located nearby. "However, the circumstances under which the dead body was found, especially with the door locked from the outside appear suspicious," said Khatri.
Staff from the Siraha Dhanusha Hotel and Lodge, where the body was found, mentioned that the woman had checked into the hotel accompanied by a man. This man, however, provided false information to the hotel, adding a layer of suspicion to the incident.
SSP Khatri confirmed that efforts are underway to locate the suspect. Sources also revealed that the deceased woman had previously faced legal action on charge of prostitution. The investigation into the incident is currently underway.
