Woman killed in elephant attack in Jhapa
JHAPA, June 14: A woman was killed in an elephant attack in the Mechinagar Municipality of the Jhapa district on Sunday morning.
According to Police Inspector Bijay Chauhan of the District Police Office, the victim was 62-year-old Padma Paudel of Mechinagar 4.
Paudel was attacked by an elephant while stepping out of her house. She died on the spot after being trampled by the animal.
Her body has been sent to Mechi Provincial Hospital for post-mortem examination.
