DHANGADI, Nov 20: An explosion took place outside the Sharada Secondary School polling station in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-2 in Kailali district on Sunday morning. Although the explosion took place near the exit gate of the polling station, there was no damage or human casualty, according to the police.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Prakash Joshi of the District Police Office, Dhangadhi, said that explosives similar to firecrackers were detonated by an unknown group. Police said voting is underway despite the explosion that left voters in a panic for a while.
A team of Nepal Army (NA) personnel had reached the incident site shortly after the explosion.
Meanwhile, police said that suspicious objects were found in at least 11 places across Kailali district on Sunday. Bomb disposal teams of the Nepali Army defused the bombs planted in two locations in Gauriganga Municipality-8 in the district.
