View Towers attracting tourists in Dhankuta

DHANKUTA, Dec 24: With an aim to attracting national and international tourists, view towers are being constructed in parts of Dhankuta. The towers have been constructed in places including Chaubise Rural Municipality, Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality, Dhankuta Municipality and Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality. Likewise, towers are under construction at several other places in the districts.

DHANKUTA, Dec 24: With an aim to attracting national and international tourists, view towers are being constructed in parts of Dhankuta. The towers have been constructed in places including Chaubise Rural Municipality, Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality, Dhankuta Municipality and Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality. Likewise, towers are under construction at several other places in the districts. 



Post the construction of a view tower at Aakhre hill in Aakhre Bajaar of Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-5, crowds have been flooding in. Tourists arriving at Bhedetaar travel to Aakhre Bajaar to observe the scenic views of mountain ranges and from the view tower. Local resident, Mohan Thapa stated that the hospitality businesses is slowly profiting.

He added, “More than a thousand tourists visit the city every week.  Along with the growth in hotel business, local products are also gaining popularity because of the increase in numbers of tourists.”



Dhwaje hill in Dhankuta is famous for viewing sunrise  and sunset. The construction of view tower there has increased the number of tourist drastically. Palak Bahadur Basnet, Ward chairperson stated that the construction of view tower has helped in promoting tourism. 


Likewise, view tower constructed in Jefaa Hill of Chaubise Rural Municipality is gaining attention among tourists. The hill lies in the border of Dhankuta and Morang district. Visitors can enjoy the majestic views of different mountain ranges and the fields of terai as well. 



After the tower at Bhedetaar  was dammage during the devastating earthquake in 2015, a new view tower is under construction. Likewise, the construction of a view tower in Chuliban Hill is in its final phase. 


Locals claim that these view towers have been fruitful for the promotion of tourism of the district.
