UNMIN chief meets Dahal

KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Unified CPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and the United Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) chief Karin Landgren met on Monday.



During the meeting held at the party´s central office of the Maoist in Parisdanda, the two discussed on the army integration and latest political developments in the country.



In the meeting, Chairman Dahal apprised Landgren of the views coming from different sectors on the army integration issues against the Comprehensive Peace Accord, said party´s spokesperson Dina Nath Sharma.



Similarly, Landgren sought Maoists´ views on removing the Maoist combatants disqualified by the UNMIN from the cantonments and rehabilitating them, informed Sharma.



In response, Dahal said his party was ready to rehabilitate the disqualified combatants in the society as soon as possible, he said.



Meanwhile, Dahal and Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former chief minister of Jharkhanda, Bhagat Singh Kosihari held a discussion Monday.



During the discussion, Dahal sought an authority of Indian Army´s chief Deepak Kapoor on his statement given on the army integration issues in Nepal.



In replay, Kasihari said Kapoor´s statement was not an official statement of the Indian Government and his party, it is said. The discussion was held at Parisdanda.
