KATHMANDU, Feb 22: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Purna Chandra Thapa held a meeting with Chief Justice (CJ) Cholendra Shumsher Rana at the latter's office on Monday afternoon.
The meeting comes at a time when the apex court is supposed to deliver its verdict on the House dissolution case any time. It was immediately not known whether CJ Rana and CoAS Thapa dwelt on the House dissolution case which is currently under consideration at the apex court. The meeting which took place on the request of the army chief lasted for about an hour.
Santosh Ballav Poudel, spokesperson for Nepal Army (NA), confirmed the meeting. He said that the meeting was held to discuss the handing over of nine ropanis of the total 37 ropanis of land covered by NA Cavalry behind the apex court building. The apex court had earlier asked NA to hand over the piece of land for the construction of its building.

A source close to the chief justice also confirmed that the duo held discussions on handing over niine ropanis of the total 37 ropanis of land covered by NA Cavalry behind the apex court building.
