Unified Socialist announces new schedule for National Convention for May

KATHMANDU, Dec 5: The CPN (Unified Socialist) is set to organize its national convention from upcoming May 17-21 in Kathmandu.


The party's central secretariat meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of party Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal agreed on a new schedule for the national convention, according to the party’s deputy secretary general, Jagannath Khatiwada.

Earlier, it had been decided to hold the event from January 28 to February 1 but was postponed by around four months in view of the National Assembly elections scheduled for January 25.


As per the party’s decisions, the secretariat meeting will be held on December 14-15 followed by a meeting of the standing committee on December 25, politburo meeting on December 26 and the central committee meeting on December 27-28.
