UN office concerned on whereabouts of Chaulagain

KANCHANPUR, April 10: The United Nations Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has expressed concern on the whereabouts of Regional Director at Far-western Region Office of the Public Service Commission, Nawaraj Chaulagain, who has gone missing for the past five months.



The central secretariat of OHCHR in Geneva of Switzerland has shown concern on the whereabouts of Chaulagain. [break]



In response to an appeal made to the OHCHR by Human Rights Education Club, Kanchanpur requesting for the search for missing Chaulagain, the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID) under the OHCHR has demanded complete details of the incident and efforts made so far in search of the missing.



Club Chairperson Madhav Adhikari said necessary details will be furnished to the OHCHR by contacting and coordinating with Chaulagain´s relatives and other stakeholders.



Earlier, the Club had appealed to Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal demanding the whereabouts of Chaulagain be identified and guilty party to be booked. His whereabouts is still unidentified.
