UML Mayor Candidate Subedi leads in Bharatpur as vote counting is underway

CHITWAN, May 14: CPN-UML Mayoral Candidate Bijay Subedi is leading the polls in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

CHITWAN, May 14: CPN-UML Mayoral Candidate Bijay Subedi is leading the polls in Bharatpur Metropolitan City. 


Of the total 101 votes counted from Bharatpur-1 so far, Subedi has received 41 votes, followed by mayoral candidate from the ruling coalition Renu Dahal with 37 votes.

Similarly, independent candidate Jagannath Poudel has received eight votes while 14 votes were declared invalid. Likewise, NC’s deputy mayoral candidate Chitranesh Adhikari has received 39 votes, while RPP candidate Himal Gurung has received 37 votes. 


According to Bharatpur Chief Election Office Chairman Prakash Adhikari, the results of the vote counting will be finished by May 19. A total of 127,839 votes were cast in Bharatpur. Although the vote counting was scheduled to begin from 9AM, the counting was delayed due to some disputes, said Adhikari.
