DHARAN, May 14: The Mayor and Deputy Mayor candidates of democratic-left coalition are leading in the local polls as the vote counting is currently underway.  As per the preliminary results of the 100 vote counts from ward one, two and three, respectively, mayoral candidate Kishor Rai is leading with 116 votes out of the total 300 votes counted so far. 


Similarly, independent Mayoral candidate Harka Sampang is trailing behind Rai with 79 votes, while UML candidate Manju Bhandari has received 53 votes. Meanwhile, coalition candidate Indra Bikram Bega for the post of Deputy Mayor is leading with 125 votes.

Likewise, UML candidate Padma Iswo Limbu has received 67 votes followed by independent candidate Dutt Kumar Limbu with 18 votes. Vote counting is underway in ward one, two and three of Dharan Municipality. Of the total 100,324 registered voters in Dharan, 62,897 votes were cast in the polling held on Friday.
