Bharatpur: Bijay Subedi maintains his lead as vote counting continues

CHITWAN, May 15: CPN-UML's Bijay Subedi has retained the lead in the vote counting for the post of mayor of Chitwan's Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

CHITWAN, May 15: CPN-UML's Bijay Subedi has retained the lead in the vote counting for the post of mayor of Chitwan's Bharatpur Metropolitan City.


During the counting of 10,604 votes, Subedi left Renu Dahal of the CPN (Maoist Center) behind by a narrow margin of 14 votes. Subedi has received 3,667 votes while Dahal trails behind him with 3,653 votes.

Independent candidate Jagannath Poudel is also increasing the number of his votes. Poudel has so far received 1,413 votes.


Similarly, Deputy Mayor candidate Chitrasen Adhikari of the Nepali Congress has received 4,150 votes so far. His nearest rival Himal Gurung of RPP has received 2,886 votes.
