According to UML, about 177 square meters of land belonging to the Kohalpur City Development Committee has been encroached upon. The City Development Committee promoted the auction through tenders. Some of the land owners, who got the land through tenders, have not been able to get the right of occupancy of the land even though they have received Lalpurja (land owner certificate). Now the land is under encroachment. “Our party has also drawn serious attention to the fact that the land mafia and their leaders have suddenly occupied the lands of some people, which were obtained through secret tenders through auctions within the City Development Committee," the statement said. According to the statement, "If that encroachment is not removed in time and if everyone will not be treated equally in accordance with justice and thought, our party will be forced to respond to it by judging it to be unfair and discriminatory.”

“We and our party are always ready to cooperate with the good work done by Kohalpur Municipality to protect public or institutional land and for sustainable development. Thus, I would like to draw the serious attention of all concerned to remove all kinds of encroachments within the city area,” said the statement. UML Kohalpur said that it is necessary to use government, public and institutional land for state or public interest. While raising the issue, it has been mentioned in the statement that UML is committed to provide immediate land allotment to unorganized residents and land squatters who have been living in this city since last year.
