POKHARA, Sept 13: A total of 389 ropani, 3 aana, and 2 paisa of public land encroached upon by individuals in the Pokhara market area of Kaski district has been officially retrieved and registered under the name of the Nepal government.The registration followed discussions with the heads of the district land revenue and survey offices.
After a field visit to Pokhara on September 2, Minister for Land Management, Cooperative, and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari directed both offices to register the land under the government's name, as confirmed by Ram Chandra Adhikari, the chief of the District Land Revenue Office.

The land, which had previously been registered in individuals' names, had long been ineligible for legal government ownership. This includes land that exceeded boundary limits through investigation and public or government land that was being used by individuals. All such land has now been transferred to government ownership.
The registered land includes: 222 ropani, 12 aana, 2 paise, and 1 dam adjacent to Prithvi Narayan Campus in Ward 1; 25 ropani, 8 aana, and 2 paise in Ward 1; 36 ropani, 14 aana, and 1 paise previously registered under the name of Chhetra Bahadur Ranabhat Ward 6; six ropani, 11 aana, and 3 paise in Dhital Ward 7; and 97 ropani, 4 aana, 3 paise, and 1 dam in Dhikur Pokhari Ward 5, all within Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC). All these land plots are now under Nepal government's ownership.
