The ultra-runner from Sindhupalchowk completed the race, which begins in the French town of Chamonix and covers 168 km, in 23 hours 50 minutes. [break]
The race attracted 2,300 starters from 73 countries including many of the world´s star mountain runners. The course is notoriously tough and fewer than fifty percent of the runners complete the race. Aite Tamang is the second Nepali runner to compete in the race. Switzerland-based Dawa Dachhiri Sherpa won the first edition in 2003 and became a household name in mountain sports in France.
