JHAPA, Jan 6: Sagarmatha Dojang, England has felicitated ultra runner Mira Rai with Rs 2.8 million in Damak of Jhapa on Thursday. On the same occasion, Mira's coach Dhurba Bikram Malla was also feted with Rs 200,000.
The amount was collected in England few months back under the initiation of Sagarmatha Dojang. Beside the Dojang, organizations including Kirat Rai Yayokha, Kirat Youth Organization, John Martial Art Academy and Bhojpur Samaj also contributed in collecting funds.

National Sports Council (NSC)'s Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista handed the money to Mira and Dhurba.
Mira, who hails from Bhojpur, is a disqualified Maoist combatant and was inspired by karate coach Malla to choose playing career in 2014 when she was on the verge of flying to Malaysia for foreign employment.
Mira was crowned champion in ultra race held in Paris last year. She has secured top places in various ultra races held in Europe and Asia.
