Two dead in traffic accident

KASKI, Oct 5: Two people were killed following a traffic collision involving a jeep and a two-wheeler at Sundari Bazar of Pokhara-26 this morning.

The deceased have been identified as scooter rider Himal Gurung, 25, and pillion rider Raksha Gurung, 23, of Adarsha Chowk of Pokhara-27, District Traffic Police Office, Kaski's chief Murari Mishra said. The bolero jeep (Ga 2 Cha 9950) en route to Bijaypur from Talchowk and the scooter (Ga 15 Pa 4380) coming from the opposite direction collided, leaving the travelers on the two-wheeler severely injured.


Though the two were rushed to the Western Regional Hospital under the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, they were pronounced dead on arrival. Following the accident, police have arrested the jeep driver.
