Two arrested with explosives in Sankhuwasabha

KATHMANDU, June 5: Sankhuwasabha police have arrested two individuals on the charge of carrying explosive substances.

KATHMANDU, June 5: Sankhuwasabha police have arrested two individuals on the charge of carrying explosive substances.


Those arrested are Bikash Kumal, 27, and Basanta Kumal, 27, of  Khandbari Municipality-9, Taplejung. They were arrested by the Temporary Police Post, Sabhakhola at 9:30 AM on Monday.

Raj Kumar Lamichhane, Inspector of the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, said that the two people were apprehended with explosives while en route to Leguwa from Tumlingtar on a motorcycle.


Lamichhane said that a detonator, emulsion, 200 grams of explosive substance, neogel, and black gunpowder were seized from them while they were riding a pulsar motorcycle (Ko 17 Pa 1187).


The Area Police Office, Chainpur, has started further investigation against the accused. Sankhuwasabha District Police Office has been given 5 days to conduct an investigation regarding the offense related to explosive substances under the National Penal Code.
