The army suspects that these explosives, found in an abandoned state, might date back to the Maoist conflict era.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ghanshyam Shrestha, the Sankhwasabha District Police Chief, stated that the explosives were discovered during a clean-up operation. The Nepali Army was then called in to safely deactivate.
