KATHMANDU, May 7: Advocate Krishna Sharma filed a petition at the Supreme Court demanding the dissolution of the search committee led by Om Prakash Mishra, which was formed to recommend officials for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP).
A single bench of Justice Sunil Kumar Pokharel scheduled the hearing for May 8 and will issue an order on the matter that day.

Advocate Krishna Sharma told Republica that he filed a writ petition demanding the dissolution of the recommendation committee for the investigation commissions and the initiation of a new process. A single bench scheduled a hearing for May 8 to discuss an interim order on the petition.
The government formed the search committee on March 24, 2025, appointing former Chief Justice Om Prakash Mishra as its head to recommend officials for the TRC and the CIEDP.
Meanwhile, the committee has been preparing to publish a shortlist of candidates. It invited applications on March 31, and 88 individuals applied for positions in the two commissions.
