The pedestrian was hit by the car (Na 1 Cha 455) heading toward Tandi from Devghat of Chitwan, the police said.
The man, aged around 30-32 years, has not been identified yet.
His body has been kept at Bharatpur Hospital for postmortem. The car driver is in police control.
Meanwhile, three people have fallen ill in Madi of Chitwan after eating poisonous mushroom. Those falling ill are Shiva Chaudhary, 35, Jeni Chaudhary, 30, and Rajmani Chaudhary, 23, police said.
All of them of the same family are undergoing treatment in Bharatpur Hospital.
Two killed in attacks
A youth, Purna Bahadur Dangi, 23, of Panchagharaiya of Kohalpur VDC in Banke district was killed when he was attacked with khukuri by an unidentified group on Friday evening.
He was attacked near the school at Dhakeri at 11 p.m. while returning to Kohalpur from the wedding party of his friend in Char Guruwa Gaun of Mahadevpur of the district, police said.
Police has intensified search for the murderers.
Meanwhile, a youth of Lekhpokhara VDC-8 in Salyan was reportedly killed by his relatives by attacking him with firewood.
Twenty-eight-year-old Om Bahadur Budhamagar was beaten up severely by the sons of his mother´s sister over a minor domestic dispute, the police said.
Police have arrested three people accused of involvement in the alleged murder.
