Three die as passenger bus collides with Indian cargo truck in Sarlahi, seven injured critically

SARLAHI, June 20: Three passengers died when a public bus collided with an Indian truck loaded with goods at Rayamajhi Chowk, Bagmati Municipality-1 along the East- West Highway this morning. Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Sarlahi, Deepak Shrestha said that seven people were severely injured in the accident.

According to the police, at 6:30 in the morning a bus (Lu 1 Kha 8848) en route east from Bhairahawa collided with a goods-loaded Indian truck (N L 011 A S 1252).

Those losing their lives in the accident are Hari Bahadur Chaudhari, Dasharath Kohar, 84, and Ram Karan Kewat, 50, from Mayadevi Rural Municipality of Rupandehi district.

According to the police, the injured were rescued and taken to different hospitals in Sarlahi for medical treatment. Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel were involved in the rescue following the accident.

 A detailed investigation into the accident is underway, the police said.
