The Widest Smile

My best friend makes the funniest jokes, smiles the widest smile and laughs the loudest laugh. Just like my father.
By Adwiteeya Shiwakoti

My best friend makes the funniest jokes, smiles the widest smile and laughs the loudest laugh. My best friend watches kids movies with me, wears a unique combination of colors and gives in to my childish cravings of ice cream. When we walk together, our conversation range from the topic of puppies to that of current world affairs and deep philosophies. I adore our friendship more than I can verbally express, it makes me feel safe, ironically, to a point where we went paragliding together.

He makes me want to grow as a person and because of him, I do. I explore all aspects of myself as a human being, emotionally and mentally as he teaches me how to bring out my best self. He watches as I get a bad grade and continues watching as I cry, silently, without judgment, without pity. When I am done, he wipes away my tears and then lets me go back to study so that I may do better tomorrow.

He took all my core traits and guided me into the person I am today. I am someone who loves cracking jokes with my friends, mostly has a wide smile on my face and laughs without a fear in the world, just like my best friend. Just like my father.
