KATHMANDU, Aug 2: An autobiographical recollection of a Nepali migrant in the US, 'The Best of Both Worlds' written by Neeva Mathema Pradhan was launched by US Ambassador Peter Bodde amidst a function at Hotel de l' Annapurna, Durbar Marg on July 31.

The book captures the imagination of most educated Nepalis today who think migrating to the US is the answer to all their worries. But does that hold true to everyone who migrates to the US with big dreams? The main theme of 'The Best of Both Worlds' revolves around how to balance the Eastern and Western culture and adopt the best out of them both.Upon releasing the book, Bodde remarked that he could relate to most of things written on the subject of immigration as he's an immigrant of sorts himself.

Speaking at the function, Dr Shankar Sharma, former Nepali Ambassador to the US, said, "People here believe that life in the US is always bright. But that is definitely not the case with everyone and this book provides an insight to the life of Nepali immigrants who always get confused whether to adopt Western lifestyle or stick to their Nepali roots."

Senior journalist Kunda Dixit commented that 'The Best of Both Worlds' exposes some of the untold stories of Nepalis in the US.

In her remarks, author Pradhan said, "There are always good and bad sides of all cultures, and this book is basically about how I, together with my family members, managed to take only the best out of them."
