KATHMANDU, May 16: Sudurpaschim Chief Minister (CM) Dirgha Bahadur Sodari received a vote of confidence from the provincial assembly on Thursday.
In the provincial assembly meeting, 28 MPs endorsed Sodari’s leadership by voting in favor of the confidence motion.

Speaker Bhim Bhandari confirmed the participation of 28 parliamentarians, all of whom supported the motion, with no opposition or abstentions. The supporters included 11 members from the CPN-UML, 10 from the Maoist Center, four from the Unified Socialist, two from Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP), and one independent parliamentarian.
CM Sodari presented the confidence motion amid protests regarding the constitutionality of his appointment. Despite initial dissent from five Nepali Congress and NUP lawmakers, the assembly proceeded with the vote.
