KATHMANDU, Oct 31: Members of the student union affiliated with CPN (Revolutionary Maoists) have staged a protest, demanding that the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) withdraw the decision to hike the prices of fuel.
The protestors staged a sit-in outside the office of NOC at Teku in the capital, demanding the withdrawal of the decision to hike fuel prices by NOC. According to Hari Krishna Gajurel, central chairman of the students union, the NOC will have to withdraw its decision to hike fuel prices immediately.
Khokana folks stage protest smearing soot over their faces
Stating that the NOC’s decision to hike fuel prices is being implemented to loot the Nepali citizens of their hard-earned money, the student union warned to smear black soot on the faces of the employees of NOC.
Chairman Gajurel of the students union also warned the government of mass protest if the decision to hike fuel prices is not withdrawn. Earlier on Friday, the NOC hiked the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 3 each. Following the decision of NOC, as many as six student unions have warned to stage protests across the country if the decision is not withdrawn.
