JANAKI, July 19: The Salt Trading Corporation (STC) Limited, Lumbini provincial office, Nepalgunj, has stocked a total of 2,786 quintals of salt as of the previous fiscal year, 2022/23. 

The provincial office imports a total of 234,000 quintals of salt from Khadaghoda of Gujarat in India every year. Each year, the office supplies 36,000 to 38,000 quintals of salt to various remote areas under the subsidy program, according to the provincial office chief of STC, Mahesh Chaudhary. 

On Monday, 320 quintals were supplied to Jumla, he added. New bidding is announced every fiscal year, and all related documents have been sent to Kathmandu to announce a new bidding for the current FY, 2023/24, he said.
