Sri Budhanilkantha lift NK Memorial<br/>Aadarsha, Triveni in last four of Bahundanda Cup

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Shree Budhanilkantha Higher Secondary School lifted the First NK Memorial Inter-college Football Tournament defeating the hosts Budhanilkantha School 2-1 in the final match played on Saturday. [break]



The best striker of the tournament Santosh Adhikari scored both the goals for the winning side. Madan Limbu pulled back one for the hosts.



Rohit Khadka and Bivek KC of Budhanilkantha School were adjudged the best player and defender of the tournament. Similarly, White House College bagged the fair play award.





Aadarsha, Triveni in last four



LAMJUNG, Aug 28: Title holders Aadarsha Club, Sahaji, Triveni Club, Besisahar, and Moonstar Club, Tara Chowk, advanced into the semifinals on Thursday in the ongoing Bahundanda Cup Football Tournament held at Bahundada, Lamjung. [break]



Aadarsha Club defeated Mount Manaslu Club, Dhakai 6-0 in the quarterfinal match held on Friday. In the one sided match of the day, Ishwor Gurung scored four goals, Kanya Prasad Gurung netted twice to register a comprehensive victory.



Likewise, Triveni Club avenged Purnima Club, Nadi, runner-up of the previous edition 2-0. Triveni had crashed out from the first round match at the hands of Purnima in the last edition. Kiss Rana gave an early lead for Triveni in the second minute and Subash Gurung double the advantage in the injury time of the first half. This is the fifth goal of Subash in the tournament and he is in top position in the fun of the highest goal scorer.



In another match, Moonstar Club ousted Prativa Club, Khanigaun, 2-1. Ash Bahadur Gurung opened the scoring in the 22nd minute for Prativa but were unable to continue with the lead as Saroj Magar of the Moonstar leveled in the 10th minute of the second half. Similarly, seven minutes later Prem Gurung killed the match to secure place in last four.



In women´s category, Mount Manaslu Club Dhakai, and Prativa Club, Khanigaun, set up the title clash. In the semifinal matches of the day, Mount Manaslu club defeated Manaslu Marsyangdi Club, Ghurmephant, 4-0 and Prativa Club edged Srijana Club, Thulibesi on Thursday to book for the final. Aakriti Gurung netted a brace and Shanti Gurung and Roji Gurung scored one goals apiece for Mount Manaslu.
