In pursuit of her military dreams

Nira Sharma is a Sunsari resident who envisions serving in the military. At present, she is obliged to accept whatever occupation she finds. Having served as a temporary cop in the general elections, she now works as a security guard in Patan Durbar Square. Sharma reports to duty every day from her Kathmandu residence in Jadibuti. She shares a flat with two of her brothers and a sister.  In pursuit of joining the Nepali army, Sharma quit her studies after completing grade ten. Though her dream of becoming a lieutenant in the army is far off on the horizon, she is happy in her own world. Nira Sharma says, “People of my age are seen traveling, continuing their studies and I am here working and having fun in my own world. I enjoy working, looking around and talking with different people.”
