According to his wife Sayamu Khatun, Prabesh Ansari of Gaur-10 Sapgadha had come to their house Sunday night asking for shelter citing curfew outside.
Prabesh, nephew by relation, and Jahir slept in a room of their house while Katun went to sleep in her daughter-in-law's house.
When she returned home this morning, she found her husband murdered with throat slit while Prabesh was at large.
Rs 500,000 in cash, which her son had sent from abroad, had also been stolen.
Jahir's body has been taken to Gaur Hospital for postmortem. Police are launching a manhunt to nab Prabesh and investigating into the case.
