KANCHANPUR, August 9: A process has been started to set up a separate hospital for the treatment of children infected with the COVID-19 in the Mahendranagar-based Mahakali Provincial Hospital.
In order to prevent and control the third wave of the COVID pandemic, the provincial hospital is constructing a 50-bed children-focused hospital at the estimated cost of Rs 900 million. Hospital Management Committee Chairperson Krishna Dutta Joshi shared that a contract was already signed for the construction of the hospital. He shared that the target was to complete the construction works of the hospital by mid-October.

The hospital will provide treatment to the children infected with COVID-19. Arrangement of doctors, health workers, medicines, necessary appliances and equipment as well as oxygen would be well-placed for the treatment.
The Ministry of Social Development under the Sudurpashchim Province has put the construction of a well-equipped children's medical hospital on the top priority. Social Development Minister Lal Bahadur Khadka inaugurated the hospital amidst a special function on Sunday.
