Organizing a press meet in Bharatpur on Sunday, Maoist´s All Nepal Landless Squatters’ Association and the All Nepal Farmers Association (Revolutionary) said that they will not return the property, which was seized by them. [break]
According to chairman of the Landless Squatters’ Association, Nar Bahadur Gautam, the seized property will not be returned unless the problems of the landless squatters are solved. Thousands of landless have been taking shelter on the seized property.
Member of the All Nepal Farmers Association (Revolutionary) Bhumiswor Kandel said that the government decision to return the seized property without solving landless squatters´ problem is wrong.
District In-charge close to UCPN-Maoist Vice-Chairman Mohan Baidhya, Anil Sharma said they have not received authorized letter for returning the seized property.
Sharma further said a letter signed by the party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal without the signatures of General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa and Vice-Chairman Baidhya will not be acceptable to them.
It is said that the party cadres have seized 12 bighas of land in Mangalpur, five bighas in Bijayanagar, 12 bighas of Dinesh Agrawal of Bijayanagar, 12 bighas in Kurintar, 83 bighas in Kathar, two and half bighas of Kamal Thapa of Jutpani, and 18 bighas in Patihani of Chitwan district, during the conflict period.
