Truck carrying illegal sugar seized from Bangesimal

BIRENDRANAGAR, July 31: Police have seized a large amount of illegal sugar in Bangesimal, Birendranagar Municipality-1. Police seized the sugar which was being taken via the Karnali Highway during a check.

BIRENDRANAGAR, July 31: Police have seized a large amount of illegal sugar in Bangesimal, Birendranagar Municipality-1. Police seized the sugar which was being taken via the Karnali Highway during a check.


The LP Truck (Karnali Pra002-001 Kha 0254) carrying illegal sugar without receipts was recovered by the police. Rupesh Khadka, Superintendent of Police (SP) of the District Police Office, Surkhet, said that 156 sacks of sugar with 50 kg per sack were seized.

According to SP Khadka, the market price of the seized sugar is Rs 780,000. Police took control of the driver Rajkumar Tharu along with the truck carrying illegal sugar and handed them over  to the Revenue Investigation Office, Kohalpur for further necessary action, as reported by the Surkhet police.
