Justice Anup Raj Sharma ordered the government to furnish written explanation within 15 days asking why the priests were appointed. The appointment had prompted clashes between Maoist cadres and police. The Maoists had beaten up Indian priests while they were performing rituals at the temple.
The SC will take up further hearing once the explanation is furnished by the government.
