KATHMANDU, Aug 17: The scheduled hearing on the case involving cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been postponed again, highlighting the complexities within the legal proceedings.
Judge Rajkumar Khatiwada's bench has taken the decision to delay the proceedings, citing the need to verify the date of birth (DoB) of the victim, Gaushala 26's mother. Concerns have arisen due to apparent inconsistencies in the provided birth dates.
With the priority of ensuring accuracy, the bench has emphasized that the court's judgment will only proceed after the date of birth has been appropriately verified. To streamline this verification process, the court has communicated that the next hearing will be arranged within the upcoming week, following the completion of date of birth authentication.
The case involving Sandeep Lamichhane has faced multiple postponements attributed to various factors, and today's anticipated debate also encountered an unexpected halt due to the ongoing dispute over the date of birth of the victim’s mother.
