The group had attacked Shiva Ram Yadav of Majauliya VDC-3 along the Marchaiya-Kalyanpur road section while he was returning home on his motorcycle, according to Marchaiya Area Police Office Inspector Naresh Raj Subedi. [break]
Subedi informed that Yadav has already returned home after receiving medical treatment at the District Hospital in Lahan. The bullets, which were intended to kill him, had missed him leaving him with minor injuries.
“Some spent bullets have been recovered from the spot and a group of policemen have been deployed to search for the culprits,” said Subedi.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the attack was all pre-planned, informed Subedi.
“The group, which was hiding and waiting for Yadav, had opened fire but fortunately the bullets missed him. The culprits cannot elude us forever,” assured Subedi.
Subedi further shared that they have intensified police security and the search for the group on the basis of information gathered from the victim.
