A meeting of RPP's central work performance committee held in the capital on Wednesday evening decided against voting in the presidential election.
RPP to stay neutral in Koshi province: Chairman Lingden
Publicizing the party's decision, RPP' Senior Vice-chairman Rabindra Mishra wrote on his Facebook wall that the RPP will not participate in the presidential election. "RPP has decided to stay neutral and not participate in the presidential election slated for March 9," according to Mishra.
Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel on behalf of the eight-party alliance and CPN-UML Vice-chairman Subash Chandra Nembang are the two candidates in the presidential election.
Given the arithmetic in the federal parliament and the provincial assemblies, Paudel's chances to win the election are high.
