Road victim’s kin block both main highways in Bhaktapur

BHAKTAPUR, Feb 7: The family members and kin of the victim killed in the road accident have blocked both the main highways in the district, demanding action against the mini-truck driver.

BHAKTAPUR, Feb 7: The family members and kin of the victim killed in the road accident have blocked both the main highways in the district, demanding action against the mini-truck driver.


The irate group, who picketed Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi, and blocked the Pepsikola-Sanothimi Road section leading to Bhaktapur from 2 pm, has also blocked Arniko Highway since 5 pm.


With the road blockade, commuters traveling to and from Bhaktapur areas have been affected.

Jagat Kumar Shrestha, 66, of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality died after being hit by a mini-truck, Ba 2 Kha 8006, at 5 am today, while he was crossing the road.


The mini-truck was heading to Bhaktapur from Kathmandu when the incident took place.


Police have carrying out investigation after taking truck driver Prem Bahadur Moktan, 29 of Kavre, currently stating at Suryabinayak Municipality-8, Jagati.
