Rastriya Swatantra Party emerges as third largest in initial PR votes count

KATHMANDU, Nov 21: The newly-formed Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)-led by Ravi Lamichhane has stood third in the Proportional Representation (PR) electoral system in the initial vote counting.

KATHMANDU, Nov 21: The newly-formed Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)-led by Ravi Lamichhane has stood third in the Proportional Representation (PR) electoral system in the initial vote counting.


According to the Election Commission (EC), the RSP that contested the election with the ‘bell’ symbol has secured 4,748 votes.

The party is currently taking a lead in five constituencies under the First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) electoral system as the vote counting is currently underway.


According to the EC data, the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has secured 7,881 votes and the CPN-UML 6,486 votes under the PR electoral system. CPN (Maoist Center) is trailing behind the RSP with a total of 2464 votes followed by RPP with a total 1813 votes so far.
