DHANKUTA, Dec 2: Comparatively a developed district in the eastern hill and the headquarters of the eastern development region, Dhankuta is once again at the helm of political agenda of the district leaders to establish it as the provincial capital of Province No. 1.
The candidates of left alliance and democratic alliance have raised the issue of provincial capital during their publicity campaigns in Dhankuta.
Candidate of House of Representatives and Industry Minister Sunil Bahadur Thapa said that making province capital of Province No. 1 for Dhankuta district was his major agenda since long back and added that his victory was sure in the elections.

He argued that Dhankuta should be made the province capital for better infrastructure and connectivity due to the mid-hill highway.
Likewise, CPN (UML) Chairman of Dhankuta District Committee and candidate of House of Representatives from left alliance Rajendra Rai shared his agendas for the upcoming elections stating that up-gradation of roads, stadium construction, the establishment of agriculture campus and hospitals, among others. Rai said his victory was certain due to his correct agendas.
Similarly, the candidate of Nepali Congress in Province 'A' Manohar Prasad Shrestha shared his agenda for making Dhankuta the province capital and expediting the development works.
Likewise, a candidate of left-alliance in Province 'A' Riran Rai said roads, irrigation facilities, drinking water, health and other sectors were in need for state interventions adding that development of the tourism sector was required.
Furthermore, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal’s candidate of Province 'B', Arjun Thapa and candidate of left alliance from the same constituency Indra Mani Parajuli pledged to make Dhankuta as the province capital at any cost. RSS
