President's Cup finals announced

KATHMANDU, April 9: National Sports Council (NSC) on Thursday announced the date for the final rounds of the President's Cup Running Shield. NSC will organize the event on May 8-10 in the capital.



The tournament will feature athletics (34 golds), volleyball (2 golds), karate (8 golds), wushu (6 golds) and taekwondo (6 golds) as 360 players from five regions will take part in the event.

Team champions, runners-up and third position holders will bag Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 in athletics and volleyball.


Meanwhile, Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 will be given to the players winning gold, silver and bronze in individual events of all other five games. The estimated cost of the tournament is Rs 3.3 million.
