KATHMANDU, Dec 25: Birendra Prasad Singh and Chandra Shekhar Yadav have been elected the Vice-presidents of Nepali Congress (NC) Province 2. In the results announced this morning, Singh and Yadav won with 1,019 and 895 votes, respectively.
Their nearest rivals Binod Kumar Khanal got 740 votes while Dhanlal Thokar got 636 votes, according to the Election Committee.

In the post of two General Secretaries, Upendra Kumar Yadav won with 959 votes and Brihaspati Krishna Shrestha won with 788 votes. Their nearest rivals were Naresh Yadav who got 775 votes and Haresh Prasad Mahato secured 703 votes. Jayanarayan Yadav with 879 votes and Parashuram Chaudhary with 822 votes were elected Joint General Secretaries.
Meanwhile, for the post of joint general secretary (female) Bindu Kumari Yadav won with 889 votes while her nearest rival Bhimadavi Sharma got 532 votes.
Earlier on Friday, Krishna Yadav had been elected as the president of NC Province 2. Yadav was elected as the province 2 president by getting 996 votes while his nearest rival Ram Saroj Yadav got 855 votes.
Prahlad Gautam, coordinator of the election committee, said that the counting of votes for the post of member of the provincial committee is underway. A total of 1,881 out of 1,951 voters had cast their votes for the 67 posts last Thursday.
