KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Krishna Yadav has been elected as President of Nepali Congress Province 2. According to the counting of votes for the post of president held this morning, he got 996 votes and was elected as the provincial president. His rival Ram Saroj Yadav polled 855 votes, according to the Election Committee. Thirty votes were invalidated.
Krishna, who has been elected as the provincial president, is the president of the Nepali Congress, Rautahat, while Ram Saroj is the leader of the NC province 2 parliamentary party and the minister for physical infrastructure development.

According to Prahlad Gautam, coordinator of the Election Committee, the counting of votes for the post of vice president and other posts is underway and the counting of votes for most of the posts will be completed by this evening.
A total of 1,881 votes out of a total of 1,951 votes were cast in the polls held from 10 AM to 8 PM on Thursday.
