KATHMANDU, March 20: Outgoing Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has congratulated the newly elected Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav. Today, issuing a statement, Pun wished Vice President Yadav success in his tenure.
Stating that he had a cordial and cooperative relationship with everyone during his tenure as the vice president for two terms, Pun said that he tried to increase the dignity of the vice presidential position by working honestly for the protection and observance of the Constitution and national unity and geographical integrity of the country.

Pun stated that after the constitution of Nepal was promulgated by the sovereign Constituent Assembly, he was elected unopposed as the vice president for another term during the transitional arrangement and during the full implementation of the Constitution, and his tenure ended with the recently elected vice president taking the oath of office and secrecy.
"I would like to express my gratitude to the political party that elected me as the vice president and helped me to make my term successful. I express my gratitude to the Government of Nepal for its full support to make the tenure successful and pleasant," he said.
He has thanked the staff in the office of the vice president, the members of his private secretariat, the Nepal Army for providing security, the Nepal Police for coordinating security, the Armed Police Force and the officers and members of the National Investigation Department and security agencies. Outgoing vice president Pun has expressed his commitment to continue working for nationalism, geographical integrity, sovereignty and prosperity in the coming days.
