KATHMANDU, May 6: The leaders of the Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) today called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Shital Niwas.
The President and the RJP leaders held talks on the country's contemporary political scenario, President's Political and Human Rights Expert, Subod Pyakurel, told the National News Agency (RSS).
On the occasion, President Bhandari expressed joy that the RJP has integrated the smaller parties based in Madhes and thereby fulfilled national duty.
Noting that the country is now in the electoral process, the President opined that the RJP must also have an active participation in the election.
RJP leaders responded by expressing their happiness that the President has taken into account their problems and urged her to take the initiative in resolving them.
Pyakurel stated further that the RJP leaders were of the opinion that it is also their duty to activate the constitution and that they wanted some of their grievances to be addressed.
Senior RJP leaders including Mahantha Thakur, Rajendra Mahato and Mahendra Raya Yadav arrived in Shital Niwas at the President's invitation. RSS
