Power cuts plague eastern Nepal

By
ITAHARI, Sept 20: Extended power cuts and low voltage have affected businesses and households in areas east of Saptakoshi River.

The people in Mechi and Koshi zones have been facing almost 28 hours of power cuts every week. There are over 500 industries in the Sunsari-Morang Industrial Corridor alone.

“Owing to low voltage and extended power cuts, we have been forced to cut down industrial output and bear losses,” said Ganga Bishan Rathi, an industrialist.
